HAWAIIAN LEI MAKING

LEI - (pronounced lay) literally means “garland” in the Hawaiian language.
Something I love to do is Hawaiian Lei making!! I learned this art from my In-Laws who were born and Raised on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. There are many different kinds of lei, and with each one that is made, something new and exciting is learned! There are also many different reasons for making, giving and wearing a lei, and I hope to get into more of that as I talk about each one. I am still learning with each new lei I make. This is a continuing and ongoing process of love and Aloha.
I have been teaching lei making workshops for 5 years in the Hawaiian Cultural Center booth at the annual “E Hula Mau” contest that is held yearly over Labor Day weekend in Long Beach California.
